Default What Is The True & Logical Definition Of A Community Stakeholder?

A person, group or organization that is a part of a community through natural birth or legal process.

Stakeholders can affect or be affected by the community's local, business, and governing actions, objectives, and policies. Some examples of key stakeholders are low-income/middle-income/high-income working citizens, and the overall community from which every citizen draws its resources from.

Not all stakeholders are equal. A company's customers are entitled to fair trading practices but they are not entitled to the same consideration as the company's employees. An illegal immigrant (lawbreaker) is entitled to be treated humanely but they are not entitled to the same consideration and earned benefits as legal or naturally born citizens of the homeland.

An example of a negative impact on stakeholders is when a company needs to cut costs and plans a round of layoffs but aims to move its operation overseas for cheaper labor. This negatively affects the community of workers in the area and therefore the local economy. Another example of a negative impact on stakeholders is when a Muslim activist aims to enforce Sharia law in the community, bypassing local, established laws. This undermines the community's rules and divides the people from one another.

Positive impacts on stakeholders is when responsible, legal immigrants apply to become a legal citizen of the community and learn the laws, language, customs, and seek to contribute to the maintenance and enrichment of the homeland and its ways. This creates security and dedication to one another. Another example is when everyone follows the community's laws (as opposed to Sharia law), creating an environment where everyone knows right from wrong, placing everyone on a level playing field and expectations under the law for all citizens.
