Default The Future Of Cities Is Childless

The Future Of Cities Is Childless

Excerpt: Since 2011, the number of babies born in New York has declined 9 percent in the five boroughs and 15 percent in Manhattan. (At this rate, Manhattan’s infant population will halve in 30 years.) In that same period, the net number of New York residents leaving the city has more than doubled. There are many reasons New York might be shrinking, but most of them come down to the same unavoidable fact: Raising a family in the city is just too hard. And the same could be said of pretty much every other dense and expensive urban area in the country.

In high-density cities like San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, D.C., no group is growing faster than rich college-educated whites without children, according to Census analysis by the economist Jed Kolko. By contrast, families with children older than 6 are in outright decline in these places. In the biggest picture, it turns out that America’s urban rebirth is missing a key element: births.

The modern American city is not a microcosm of life but a microslice of it. It’s becoming an Epcot theme park for childless affluence, where the rich can act like kids without having to actually see any.

In a nutshell... cities are loaded with transients who are seeking work and parties. The idea of a young man and woman seeking marriage, children, a happy home and a nice church are gone in the cities. It's now about alternative sexual lifestyles, giving the homeless a stipend, becoming a sanctuary city for illegal aliens and hating on America.

The majority of families with children see the filth of the cities for what it is... crime, sexual perversion, sidewalks where the homeless defecate, disease, overpriced housing, overpriced parking, tolls, and climate activists who report you for not recycling or when you use your traditional fireplace.

Why live there?

Cities are violent both on the streets and in their politics as the aim is to either mug you after you get out of your car in the evening or call you a Nazi if you support strong borders. When done... your money is gone and your mind is assaulted by greedy people who wouldn't know how to raise a child. And that mark of being a responsible parent is the most difficult job of all as it is deep with love as well as morals. City folk just wouldn't understand any of that as they compare their pets to "children".

Again... why live there?

The cities are surrounded by tall cement buildings, steeped in gray concrete, pot-hole ridden streets, packed buses and a few parks with worn grass. They are far from being connected to nature in any way yet these "progressive" city dwellers claim to be so connected to nature. How? They have no babies, they don't hunt or fish, they hardly camp and they practice the LGBTQ lifestyle or are rabid allies. How is any of that natural. No. They are simply the product of selfishness. The only sacrifice they make is for money, career and the latest fashion craze... shallow pursuits. How could a real life, children ever spring forth from that?

They can have the urban life.
